John Espey is one of the co-founders of Levvel and has been involved in multiple successful startups and consulting engagements throughout his 17+ years in software development. He spent 7 years with Amentra, ultimately working as its COO, helping to grow it from a regional player to its acquisition by Red Hat in 2008. He also spent 3 years as the COO of Nexgrid, an innovative Smart Grid provider. John brings a combination of deep technical skills combined with his experience starting and growing companies and an MBA from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business to help Levvel continue on its rapid growth trajectory.

Chris Hart

CTO

Chris Hart is a co-founder and CTO of Levvel. He has more than 15 years of technology leadership experience and has led software development, infrastructure, and QA organizations at multiple Fortune 100 companies. In addition to his enterprise experience, Chris has helped start or grow multiple early-stage technology companies. In the five years before starting Levvel, Chris was focused on financial technology solutions in the consumer, commercial and wealth management space. His technical expertise and enterprise-scale, global program management background helps Levvel’s clients transform their businesses.

Matt Ernst

Co-Founder

Matt helps guide Levvel’s strategic direction and overall operations. A former E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year, Matt was the founder and CEO of Amentra which he rapidly grew and ultimately sold to Red Hat (RHT - NYSE), prior to forming his early-stage investment fund, Walnut Grove Holdings (WGH) in 2011. In March 2015, WGH made a substantial investment into the growth and launch of Levvel, formerly Latta Partners. Matt has invested and worked in a variety of successful startups across multiple industries, including technology, SAAS and retail. He brings Levvel seasoned leadership, deep business and entrepreneurial know how to both stand up and scale Levvel’s long term growth and execution.

Akhil Bhaskar

Managing Director, Asia-Pacific

Akhil Bhaskar joined Levvel as part of the Asia-Pacific expansion. He brings a wealth of international experience, having worked in Europe, North America, Australia, and Asia for both large and small companies. His core strength lies in using technical and managerial skills to ensure outcomes fit into a business narrative. Akhil spent seven years at Amentra—later acquired by Red Hat—and moved to Australia in 2010 to grow Red Hat’s Middleware business across sales, technical, and governance roles. Most recently, he was the Global Director responsible for the enablement of Red Hat business partners and technical field teams. By joining Levvel, he has returned to his passion of being part of an entrepreneurial agency.

Mark Dlugokencky

Managing Director, Northeast and Mid-Atlantic

Mark Dlugokencky is a Managing Director at Levvel, where he runs the New York office charged with delivery for the Northeast and the Mid-Atlantic regions. He is also the head of the Capital Markets practice. Prior to joining Levvel, Mark spent nearly nine years at Morgan Stanley, most recently serving as an Executive Director in the Equity Derivatives Technology group responsible for pre-trade, pricing, and execution systems for the Institutional Equity Derivatives business. Mark spent a number of years in consulting working across a variety of industries, including Retail and Health Care. He is a CFA Charterholder and holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. He currently lives in Westchester County in New York with his wife and son.

Farhan Hussain

General Manager, Reselling and Training

Farhan Hussain brings two decades of experience helping corporations deploy and effectively utilize disruptive technology for their mission-critical information systems. He specializes in open source software, devops, and microservices and has a successful history of building both Agile software delivery teams and sales teams. As the CEO of Open Source Architect, he drove substantial growth through technical and sales teams focused on consulting, training, and software offerings that helped clients transform their businesses. With Levvel, Hussain has a dual responsibility for the company’s enterprise partnerships and training offerings and for the expansion of the company’s footprint in the central United States.

Managing Director, Southeast

Sean Shealy brings more than 10 years of experience leading software development organizations, building solutions, and delivering products for both Fortune 100 companies and promising startups. Sean brings experience from many verticals based on his prior consulting experiences with a focus on finance, risk, insurance, and ecommerce. He brings a unique blend of enterprise know-how and small company agility that help drive successful engagements and transformations for Levvel’s partners.

Jon Smith

Managing Director, West

Jon Smith is Managing Director of Levvel’s West Coast operations, based in San Francisco. He brings extensive technology leadership experience from both the startup and the enterprise world, having focused on product and platform development. Before joining Levvel, Jon was Senior Director of Mobile Solutions and Services at FIS and mFoundry (acquired by FIS). Prior to that, he worked at Amentra and, after the company’s acquisition by Red Hat, moved to San Francisco in 2009 to grow Red Hat’s consulting business. Jon lives in Marin County with his wife and daughter.

VP of Sales

Dave Carr is the Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Levvel. He brings over 18 years of experience in IT Consulting and Software business development. Dave spent 8 years with Keane, Inc. followed by several successful years leading and growing sales for the South East region for Amentra, Inc. Amentra was acquired by Red Hat in 2008 wherein he assumed a Key Account Executive role working with a variety of Fortune 100 accounts. Dave is known for his strong history and passion for partnering with customers to solve business problems and business transformation initiatives. His success over the years is attributed to his focus on crafting the right technology solutions to meet disparate business needs.

VP of Marketing

Cat Carter is the Vice President of Marketing at Levvel. She has over 15 years of marketing, brand management, product management, and consulting experience. This broad-based background grants her a holistic view of an organization’s challenges and opportunities and helps to shape Levvel’s offerings and go-to-market strategies. Throughout her career, Cat’s work has always revolved around two things: problem-solving and effective communication. Her position at Levvel allows her to merge the two to drive engagement and to deliver value to our organization and our clients. Cat has worked across a wide range of industries and for businesses of all sizes, including her own award-winning publishing company.

VP of Services

Eric LaForce is Levvel’s VP of Services and manages the logistics and processes across the company’s various regions. He has extensive experience in technology leadership, software consulting, and delivering successful technology focused projects in disparate industries. In previous roles, he helped build cohesive and effective teams, raised the quality and effectiveness of consulting services, and built effective processes designed for specific organizations—instead of forcing a one-size-fits-all approach. Eric brings these abilities to Levvel, where he works to ensure that the company gives each client the best possible experience and services.

Srinivas "CJ" Coimbatore

DevOps Practice Lead

Srinivas “CJ” Coimbatore has over two decades of experience in diverse disciplines such as sales, marketing, software development, architecture and delivery, and has worked with teams in all of the major geographies. He is an effective change agent and is very interested in collaborating with teams that are involved in transforming their process through DevOps. In his spare time, he follows Formula 1 racing teams, rides his motorcycle, and—along with his friends—helps raise money for children with health challenges and for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, Make-a-Wish Foundation, and Angels Among Us. He hopes to eventually spend more time teaching math and science to children.

Scott Harkey leads the growing Payments Practice at Levvel. By leveraging his past 5 years of banking experience leading the technology teams responsible for implementing various digital wallet products at Bank of America (Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Android Pay, TCH Secure Cloud, Isis/Softcard, and Paydiant) along with 10 years of technology merger integration and IT operations outsourcing work at Wells Fargo, Scott brings a unique “insider” point of view combined with a proven track record of delivery to banks, technology providers, and merchants exploring the digital payments space.

Assaf Weinberg

Product Innovation Practice Lead

Assaf manages Levvel’s Product Innovation Practice. He has over 15 years of experience in Product Management, UX, and UI technology across a number of industries. Assaf brings a holistic approach to Product Design that connects design, engineering, and business strategy to help clients launch new products and reinvent existing ones. Assaf’s previous roles include product management at Travelocity, user experience at Ally Bank, as well as product and technical leadership roles at start-up companies.
